About Michael Shure:

Michael Shure was most recently Chief Political Correspondent for Al Jazeera America, having been with the network during it’s entire three year run. Prior to that he anchored “The War Room” a one-hour news and political show airing weeknights on Current TV. Michael was born in, and grew up in New York City. He is a graduate of the University of Virginia.

He worked as the Florida state press secretary for the Dukakis-Bentsen presidential campaign in 1988. Thereafter he worked as an NBC page in New York, and subsequently on the production side of the local news show, Today in New York, also at NBC. Michael left New York for Los Angeles, and left news for comedy, where he performed with the Groundlings Theater and earned small roles in films and on television ranging from “Showgirls.” To “Curb Your Enthusiasm.”

A return to New York facilitated a move back to news. Michael joined CNN and their fledgling “NewsStand” series as an on-air correspondent for the “Entertainment Weekly” show. Michael then began reporting as the political correspondent for “The Young Turks” on Sirius Satellite Radio. The show went on to become YouTube’s largest news show, with billions of views. Subsequent to this Shure joined Current TV as the network’s political correspondent and guest host.

He appeared daily in his role as the so-called “Epic Politics Man,” the political analyst for the network, until assuming the role of host of “The War Room with Michael Shure.” Michael lives in Los Angeles with his eight year old son, Owen.
