Ivanka Trump Tells Reporter Its “Inappropriate” To Ask About Her Father’s Sexual Misconduct

During a recent interview with NBC, Ivanka Trump was asked about the women accusing her father of sexual misconduct. Ivanka responded by saying that the question was inappropriate, and that the reporters wouldn’t be asking the same thing of other people’s daughters. Ivanka forgets that her family tried to tie Democrats to Harvey Weinstein for months, and the question is more than fair. Ring of Fire’s Farron Cousins discusses this.

Transcript:

Monday morning Ivanka Trump was interviewed by NBC News where she was asked explicitly about the women who have accused her father of sexual misconduct, and here is how Ivanka responded to that question.

Peter Alexander: Do you believe your father’s accusers?

Ivanka Trump: I think it’s a pretty inappropriate question to ask a daughter if she believes the accusers of her father when he’s affirmatively stated that there’s no truth to it. I don’t think that’s a question you would ask many other daughters. I believe my father, I know my father so I think I have that right as a daughter to believe my father.

First and foremost, let’s get one thing straight real quick. Ivanka Trump, in addition to being the president’s daughter, also happens to be a senior advisor employed by the White House. Therefore, regardless of your familial ties, you can and should be asked questions about what’s going on with your administration including any and all accusations of sexual harassment. Furthermore, you were asked this question, one, yes, because you are a senior advisor. But two, you’ve been sent all around the globe to represent the United States. Asking you that question was not inappropriate, it wasn’t out of line. It was in line with what reporters should have been doing with you from day one.

Now, you can try to play the victim here, but the only victims are the 20 plus women who have not seen justice as a result of what your father did to them. You’re not the victim in this instance, Ivanka. I know you want to think you are. I know you want to think that the media is just picking on you. But let’s go back a little further as well. Think about how horrible the media was to Chelsea Clinton, another presidential daughter, attacking her over her looks, attacking her over everything that she said or did anywhere. Overall, just bullying her into oblivion, and you think that you’ve got it tough because they want to get your take on your father’s sexual indiscretions that could be illegal.

No. You have no idea how horrible the media can be because the media that’s usually horrible to people, the right wing media, is actually being a little bit nice to you right now. God forbid, you should ever have to go through what other presidential daughters or first ladies had to go through. You are living a life of privilege, you always have. So don’t come at this reporter and say that it’s inappropriate because they want to know your take on the disgusting history of your father.
