PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

The Assistant Manager, Post-Production will direct the day-to-day operations of the Post-Production team. Reporting to the Director of Post-Production & Graphics, they will be responsible for managing staff as well as planning and overseeing upcoming projects both large and small. They will own, organize, and maintain the many tools used for both communication and collaboration within and outside of the Editing team. The Assistant Manager, Post-Production will be a direct supervisor to Tier 1 and 2 editors, supervising their work and time. They will be tasked with identifying and troubleshooting problems of individuals and groups. In addition, the Assistant Manager, Post-Production will also maintain some level of direct editing responsibility for the show or shows they support.   Key responsibilities and duties include:

  • Create and manage Editor schedules
  • Update calendars and trackers
  • Assign ad-hoc and upcoming editing projects
  • Help editors work towards accomplishing annual goals
  • Support Department Director
  • Schedule and run monthly Editing team meetings
  • Work directly with Producers to meet Post Production needs

IDEAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Leadership experience
  • Good time management skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate effectively with team and Director
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with direct reports
  • Knowledge of Google suite of organization tools, internal structures such as Vantage and Grid, and necessary communication platforms like Slack, Gchat, and email
  • Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve is essential

The successful candidate will lead a team of editors in their daily tasks, ensuring that everyone is working efficiently towards short and long-term goals. They will be able to effectively communicate interdepartmentally, especially with Producers. The candidate should be a motivated and eager self-starter who can take and give direction well. Ideally, the candidate would be highly organized as the editing department is large and growing larger.
